Light and Dark

Dark:

Covering, hiding,
It draws the veil between you and what you have done
It tells you it's fine,
We've all been through it,
Embrace the shadows
We're all the same in the dark
You let those deeply hurting sores fester,
Become numb.
If you can't feel it, it's not there.

Light:

Exposing, revealing,
It stings, like antiseptic cleaning a wound,
Cutting through that veil.
It shows everyone,
It shows you what it is that you've done,
And it says, I'm here. Don't hide.
Everyone has sorrows,
Not everyone is the same.
